Juan Esteban Herrera A.k.a Ruido Selecto is a music producer, mixing and mastering engineer specialized in genres such as; dub, reggae, ska, alternative electronic music, hip hop, and traditional Latam music.

Juan Esteban Herrera graduated in Recording Arts from the ITM in Medellín, has a master’s degree in Digital Arts and specialized in audio post-production at the University of San Buenaventura. He is an academic researcher and has also been trained as a musician in the recording studio, which has allowed him to understand and apply the complete musical production chain, bringing together the creative and technical aspects involved in making phonograms.

As an artist, Juan Esteban Herrera is constantly creating music in the studio and periodically publishes his sonic explorations under the names of Ruido Selecto (Producer) and Echo Selector (Musical Project).

Ruido Selecto is the name under which Juan Esteban Herrera works as a music producer and constantly publishes his music, collaborates from production for various artists and offers a powerful Live Act. His searches, as a musical creative, are directed towards on sound exploration with electronic tools, finding Jamaican rhythms, Colombian tropical music and African sound influence in the Caribbean as raw material.

Echo Selector

Echo Selector is a DUB musical project that explores Jamaican rhythms through electronic tools using dubmixing techniques in a live band format. The project was born in 2018 as a search for the producer and guitarist Juan Esteban Herrera focused on the sounds of Reggae, audio processing and electronic music performed live.

As a music producer, he has had the opportunity to work from recording, production, mixing and mastering with important global artists in the alternative musical field such as; Afrotronix, Systema Solar, Tremor, Xiomara Fortuna, Animaleja and Sofía Viola. In addition, he is a constant remixer and collaborator in mixing and mastering area for labels such as; Folcore Records, Grabaciones TierraNegra, Fértil Discos, Poderes Inútiles among others.
